Samurai master Koheita (Koji Yakusho) takes on his biggest challenge to date when he becomes magistrate of a town rife with corruption and crime. The infamous and self-styled "Four Musketeers" of Japanese cinema--consisting of Akira Kurosawa, Keisuke Kinoshita, Kon Ichikawa, and Masaki Kobayashi--collaborated on the script for DORA-HEITA after forming their own production company in 1969, although the movie wasn't shot until 2000.
