This time around players will be able to exercise more control over their favorite wrestlers thanks to the new Struggle Submission System that lets analog controls dictate how much pressure to apply on opponents. New superstar styles let gamers assign their favorite wrestling personality one of eight different fighting styles, including technical, submission, high-flyer, and dirty. Each style features its own unique set of moves, abilities, attributes, and occasionally, weapons. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 also features the new WWE 24/7 mode which combines the season and general manager modes from previous Smackdown vs. Raw games to give players more control over their favorite superstar's career. The 24/7 mode keeps track of match statistics and measures progress with regard to career goals, giving players the ability to choose numerous character development options on the way to becoming a wrestling legend.
